Manager Marlow's take on match performance
15/11/08 - North of Scotland Cup 2nd Round vs Bankhead
Bankhead must be sick of the sight of Halliburton this season. We have now met 3 times this term in 3 different competitions and have still to welcome them back to Lawsondale in the league ! So far we have won 3 out of 3 scoring 20 Goals and conceding only 4 plus a broken leg!! This afternoon it did take us a while to finally break them down but in the second half after a well taken Mini goal, we ran amok. An excellent hat-trick from8/11/08 - AAFA Division 2 East vs Rothie Rovers
We did really well to come from behind and this was a vital 3 points for us. In truth we should have had the game sealed up by the interval with a number of good chances passed up. That said, you have to be there to miss them and we continued to be there and our perseverance paid off in the end. There is little doubt that Rothie bossed the second half but without really looking like scoring. I asked before the game for 100 per cent and we went some way to producing that and definitely improved from the last outing that I witnessed at Monymusk.. Ross Fulton was fabulous first half but faded as the second half got underway. Skipper Graeme Fulton was solid throughout and it looks like he has inherited some of his predecessors grit, returning to the fold when others may easily have remained beside the jelly baby bag. Next weekend we have to be right up for it if we are to emulate last seasons North of Scotland Cup run. Bankhead will be smarting after two heavy defeats from us and noticeably they recorded a great win over Monymusk this afternoon… a side that destroyed us only a matter of two weeks ago.1/11/08 - Scottish Cup 3rd Round (Captain's Log)
A day that started with such optimism, ended in disaster. To blame the pitch is an easy excuse. Halli were never up for it from the start which is the most disappointing thing. Calderbank were a good team, obviously used to playing on that pitch every week. But there movement, pace and attitude was better than Halli’s all over the pitch. There was never an 8 goal difference between the sides but Calderbank wanted it more and thoroughly deserved their win. Must concentrate on getting back to winning ways in the league and not be too downhearted as in all honesty, we were never going to win the Scottish Cup. Today’s surface was terrible at best, let’s get back to winning ways with a game on home soil next weekend.
