GRAEME FULTON APPOINTED NEW HALLIBURTON FC CAPTAIN

Before Saturdays match away to Bankhead in the League (27/09/08), captain Tony Morgan announced that he was to step down as skipper due to family commitments restricting him from appearing at every game. The armband has now been passed to centre-half Graeme Fulton who will now hopefully lead by example, be present at every game despite injury and help put up the goals once in a while!!!

Halliburton FC Doubles Championship - 6 October 2008

Team Ter/Ter Combo (Nicol Webster & Greg Young) vs Team MarJo (Scott Marlow & Grant Fisken)Match Reporter – Gregsy Young At approx 745pm the game of the century got underway at Rileys, Chapel Street, Aberdeen. Team Ter Ter Combo was made up of the invincible Nicol Webster and partner in crime Greg Young. Team Marjo was made up of the mouthy Scott Marlow and team bottler Grant Fisken. The 1st frame was tight to begin with until Team Ter Ter combo stepped up a gear and powered to a sublime lead that in truth was the picture of the evening.  Ter Ter Combo member Greg Young relieved his partner in crime the invincible Nicol Webster with a sublime booming pot on the red which relieved any stress that may have been building up over the days on the runup to the match.  Nicol Webster was in top form booming in some fantastic shots with superb accuracy on the cue ball to power team ter ter combos into a comfortable 1-0 lead.   Frame two got underway and Team marjo showed some decent shot making however unfortunately the mouthy Scott Marlow could not control the power of his cue stroking and resorted to powering the cue ball as hard as he could on every shot!! Team Marjo Partner Grant Fisken was showing some nice pots however he could not get into a rythmn and most breaks peetered out after 2 pots. Team Ter Ter combo Nicol Webster made a fantastic break and put team Ter Ter combo into a comfortable 2-0 lead. Cruising was the saying of the night from team Ter Ter combo as they looked over at Team Marjo confiding.... Grant Fisken at this point could be seen shouting at his team partner and discussing possible ways they could interfere with play to put Ter Ter combo off there game..... this resortedto dirty tactics like standing on ankle, tripping people up and generally making funny but ludicrous comments at Greg Young...... this was effective for the 3rd and 4th frames when team Marjo kept things tight in the 3rd frame and took a huge 29point lead however this was reduced to just 6points after some incredible potting by nicol webster from team Ter Ter combos and after a terrible effort by Greg Young to double the blue in the middle pocket (resulted in a quadruple shot) that left the blue nicely for team marjo to finish it off...... 2-1.   Team marjo at this point were excelled, they seen some daylight, they wanted more, the hunger and passion was there again...... this resulted in an incredible 4th frame where they took a hugelead and went on to win after some great potting from both Grant and Scott.... 2-2.   Team Ter ter Combo were rocked they required some serious magic to settle the nerves......Ter Ter Combo pertner Nicol Webster was seen saying to partner Greg Young "Lets step it up a gear" and boy did they do that...... the 5th frame got underway and although things were tight to begin with (the story of the whole match mainly because we couldnt pot s**t) the tension was in the air..... however team Ter Ter combo pulled through in the end again after some fantastic potting skills from Nicol Webster ( the story of the match)....... 3-2......team ter Ter Combo took a valuable lead in the match and to be fair the match was over after thisframe there was no way back for team Marjo and this was confirmed after a sublime 6th frame from team ter ter combo resulted in an absolute hammering to take the match 4-2. Overall a fantastic match (made better by the fact the person writing this was in the winning team) and team ter ter combo after the game were interviewed and said: Reporter " what do you think of the performance of your opponents?"Nicol " they were good but just didnt have the class of ter ter combo"Greg "aye that grant had some moves but that mouthy twat scotty wasuseless"Reporter "so are you happy?"Greg " aye was good to get off to a good start we will never be beating"Nicol " superb, i will have a hot toddie tonight and sleep well"Reporter "some good potting Nicol how did you feel when that break of 17went in?"Nicol " fantastic, i knew if i could get my positioning sorted then thisshambles team marjo were mince meat"Greg " he was fantastic a true Ter"Reporter "will you be up for a rematch?"Nicol "absolutely although we want a better challenge"Greg " i will have to check my diary, i cant waste my time winning matcheslike this on valuable school night, i have homewrok to do" Reporter "so team marjo how do you feel after that defeat?"Grant "terrible, my partner is rubbish.  I need a new partner, i will beback for more"Scotty " we were turned over by a better team..... I have alot of time forGreg Young he is amazing and i take back all the stuff i said yesterday inemails..... he is better than me"
